The Uw Value is the heat flow in Watt, which perfuses the area of 1 square meter at a difference of 1 Kelvin (1 Celcius) between the air in- and outside the building.
In case of windows it means the interaction of the material-combination of the frame and the glass.
Badly rated components have a high, good have a low Uw value.
A single glazed timber window has a Uw Value of approximately 4,8 Uw
Timber casement windows single glazed have a Uw Value of approximately 3,0 Uw
PVC windows uncoated insulated glass (used in the 1980's) have a Uw Value of approximately 2,7 Uw
A Corona SI 82 with tripple glazing has a Uw Value of approximately 0,8 Uw
